Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant to support an orthopedic floor with day shift duties. The role involves providing basic patient care, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and relaying vital signs to the patient nurse.

You will also assist with patient processing, coordination, and limited clerical tasks. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, CNA certification or six months of recent nursing assistant experience, and current BLS certification.

Compensation/Benefits

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. depending on previous work experience
• PRN differential $1.75/hr.
• Evening differential $1.50/hr.

Ortho is a 32 bed orthopedic floor. We also take med/surg overflow and cardiac overflow. We are a center of excellence with certifications in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacements and Hip Fractures.

Job Summary

• Provides basic patient care
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
• Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse
• Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures
• Facilitates processing of patients
• Provides clerical receptionist support
• Provides coordinating support
• Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
