Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join the orthopedic floor team. The 32-bed unit handles med/surg overflow and prides itself on certifications in hip/knee replacements and hip fractures.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, maintaining a safe environment, taking vital signs, and supporting nursing staff. Schedule is day shift, 7a-7p, full-time with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification or 6 months CNA experience required.
• Six months CNA experience preferred if substituting for certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment.
• Takes and records vital signs and relays to the patient's nurse.
• Provides general nursing care and routine treatments/procedures.
• Facilitates processing of patients.
• Provides clerical receptionist support.
• Provides coordinating support.
• Performs additional duties related to the department.

Compensation/Benefits

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. depending on previous work experience
• Evening differential $1.50/hr.
• Night differential $1.75/hr.
• Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Ortho is a 32 bed orthopedic floor. We also take med/surg overflow and cardiac overflow. We are a center of excellence with certifications in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacements and Hip Fractures.

Job Summary

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
