Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a day shift, full-time Medical Surgical- 2nd floor Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves supporting nurses with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with blood draws in a busy hospital unit.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and must obtain BLS within 14 days of hire. Phlebotomy experience or coursework is preferred, with 2 years in acute or long-term care being advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• Preferred: phlebotomy coursework or proven phlebotomy proficiency.
• 2 years of acute or long-term care experience is preferred.
• Certification including CNA/PCT or EMT-P may be required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating, ADLs).
• Observe patients and relay progress reports to nurses.
• Record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure intake/output and support range of motion; assist with blood draws.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• High School or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
