Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a day-shift, full-time Endoscopy Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and support the surgical/endoscopy team.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification within 14 days, and experience with phlebotomy; CNA/PCT or EMT-P certifications are preferred or you’re enrolled in nursing school.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating, ADLs).
• Observe patient progress and report to RN/medical staff.
• Record vital signs and collect specimens for labs.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure intake/output and assist with range of motion; draw blood.

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• 2 year’s experience in acute or long-term care.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
