Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join a team focused on compassionate patient care and teamwork. The role supports registered nurses with daily activities and basic clinical tasks within a hospital setting.

The candidate will perform vital signs, specimen collection, basic transport, and documentation while maintaining patient comfort and privacy. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Responsibilities

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, including assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
