Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision at one of its supported Barnes Jewish locations in Missouri. The role emphasizes patient safety, ADLs assistance, vital signs, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position offers eligibility for benefits, a variety of scheduling options (Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN), and training through a PCT Academy for those without prior experience.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care under supervision to support licensed nurses.
• Collects vital information and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Documents all patient care activities with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision, assisting with ADLs, vital signs, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, catheter care, phlebotomy or point-of-care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and notifies nurse of changes in patient status.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education; maintains appropriate documentation and safety sitter duties when needed.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are available to meet patient needs; participates in safety, quality and regulatory activities.
