Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician/ CNA in a nursing unit. You will assist with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and support patient mobility and comfort within the Ortho/Neuro unit.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA/PCT training is provided, with potential for in-house training for those in the NGHS program. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and compassionate patient support.

Qualifications

• CCHT certification (for dialysis unit only).
• High School Diploma, GED, or high school transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level of high school.
• No previous experience required; PCT Academy may train those without recent CNA experience.
• Able to work in a clinical nursing setting and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient physiological data (vital signs, weight, skin condition, color, urine and stool).
• Use proper body mechanics and assist with positioning, mobility, ADL and comfort needs per procedure.
• Monitor intake and urine output and record on appropriate forms.
• Identify and report physical or mental status changes to licensed staff promptly.
• Organize patient care and prioritize tasks according to physician and nursing orders.
• Perform therapeutic procedures within scope and report patient response to supervising nurse.
• Make rounds and respond to patient call lights; take appropriate actions.
• Explain procedures or care to patients prior to starting procedures.
