Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in the Lehigh Valley seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians, supporting both in-person and telehealth encounters.

You will work night shifts at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hecktown Oaks, performing rounds, ensuring safety, and collaborating with the care team. Requires High School Diploma and BLS; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to work within an interprofessional team.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and responds to patient call light or pages promptly.
• May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
• May be required to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the use of peripheral devices and telehealth software.
