Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of licensed clinicians, supporting safety and quality of care for diverse patients. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team, assist with patient rounds, and help with supplies, equipment and telehealth as needed to ensure efficient unit operations.

Work is on-site at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Day Shift 7a to 7:30p with every third weekend and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to work within an interprofessional team.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed.
• May assist with telehealth encounters under distant provider supervision.
