Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Campus is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nurses on the Medical Unit. The role operates on a 12-hour night shift, with opportunities for 7:00 am–7:00 pm and 7:00 pm–7:00 am shifts, and options for full-time or part-time schedules including occasional PRN coverage.

Under RN supervision, the PCT delivers direct patient care and maintains a clean, safe environment while focusing on age-specific needs and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred minimum of one year of direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN in order to identify and attain treatment goals.
• Assists patient in completing ADLs.
• Demonstrates sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities.
• Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well being.
• Records patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.

Position Purpose

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technicianis responsible fordirect patient care considering age specific, developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/familywell beingincluding concepts ofrelationship basedcare.

Shifts Available:

7:00 am – 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Status available:

Full-time, Part-time, Contingent/PRN

Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.
