Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Preferred: Prior patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and patient comfort.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and protect safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition-related issues to the RN.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and answers calls.
