Job summary

Suburban Hospital, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is seeking a Patient Care Technician Intern (PCT Intern) to join the float pool in Bethesda, MD. You will work under RN supervision to provide compassionate patient care and gain foundational clinical skills in a collaborative healthcare setting.

The role includes performing routine patient care activities, documenting patient information, and using specialized equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 patient observation.
• Offer camera monitoring for patients.
• Serve as a Patient Care Technician on the unit as needed.

The Patient Care Technician Intern (PCT Intern) works under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care. This role includes performing routine patient care activities and delegated clinical procedures, documenting and communicating patient information, and using specialized equipment to support a safe, high-quality care environment. The PCT Intern develops foundational clinical skills while gaining valuable experience caring for patients in a collaborative healthcare setting. This role is part of the float pool, where you will function in three key capacities:

• Provide direct 1:1 patient observation
• Offer camera monitoring for patients
• Serve as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the unit as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network

Salary Range: Minimum 19.00/hour - Maximum 19.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
