Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Patient Care Tech Intern for the Emergency Services to assist nursing staff with routine patient activities and care procedures.

This internship is supervised, with potential progression to PCT I after training; benefits include medical/dental/vision, PTO, and tuition reimbursement; CNA required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland.
• BLS CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross/Military Training Network) required.
• Entry-level knowledge of basic clinical skills to support nursing personnel with patient care activities.
• PCT Intern will remain in an intern role for no longer than 1 year; may advance to PCT I after training.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Emergency Services is a designated Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, regional Pediatric Trauma Center, Eye Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Cardiac Center for the state of Maryland. The Adult Emergency Department provides 24/7 comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients as well as trauma patients 15 years and older. The department consists of 76 treatment beds and handles more than 60,000 visits annually.

The Patient Care Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates.

Salary Range:

Minimum $18.00/hour - Maximum $18.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
