Job summary

Carle Health is seeking Health Care Technicians (HCT) to assist nursing staff in personal care tasks and daily living activities. The role involves data collection, patient monitoring, and aiding in transportation and bedside procedures across units.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification within 30 days, and CNA-related education or experience, including recent CNA coursework and clinical exposure.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program or equivalent.
• CNA coursework completed within the last 24 months.
• Licensed nursing support experience or CNA background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities.
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment, stock nurse servers, clean instruments, and charting.
• Record and document patient data as directed by RN.
• Measure vital signs and glucose, monitor intake/output as trained.
• Prepare patients for transport and assist during transport.
• Support high-quality care for adult and pediatric patients.
• Update communication boards and conduct hourly rounds.
• Float to different units as needed and serve as a sitter when required.
• Assist bedside procedures setup.
