Zusammenfassung

Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support decentralized, patient-centered care under RN supervision. You will measure and document vital signs, report patient concerns, and assist with mobility and daily activities, ensuring comfort and safety.

The role requires BLS certification on hire and ongoing maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of patient care experience preferred. This is a PRN, on-site position with hourly pay.

Qualifikationen

• Basic Life Support required upon hire and to be maintained thereafter (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or ARC CPR/AED).
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patient with everyday needs (personal hygiene, using the restroom, grooming, etc.).
• Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, etc.) or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies, linen is clean.
• Assist patients with particular issues or needs.
• Provide emotional support to patients.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor.
• Empty drains, ostomies, Foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
