Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to support the healthcare team in delivering compassionate patient care. Under supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help with various procedures while maintaining safety and patient comfort.

A strong foundation in medical terminology and English communication is essential. The role requires at least a high school diploma and current BLS certification, with potential signing bonus

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Competency in patient care with 800 hours of PCT I experience or 6 months direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist with daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Monitor and report vital signs, help with basic procedures and tests.
• Support safe patient handling and mobility using proper technique.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
