Job summary

Memorial Hermann seeks a Patient Care Technician II to perform patient care activities and respond to changes in patient condition under a licensed nurse. The role includes assisting with ADLs, hygiene, nutrition and activities of daily living, while documenting and communicating changes promptly.

Candidate should have at least 1 year of patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting, and must obtain Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Perform vital signs, hygiene, mobility, nutrition support and activities of daily living as needed.
• Document accurately and report any changes to the nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Follow Memorial Hermann safety policies and procedures.
• Obtain and prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed within the scope of the role.
• Assist in orienting new employees as appropriate.
• Support budgetary specifications including time management and productivity.
• Demonstrate commitment to compassionate, personalized care for every patient and family.
• Other duties as assigned.
