Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech IHR to perform basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN. The role includes monitoring vital signs, glucose checks, and assisting with activities of daily living, while ensuring patient comfort and safety within a dynamic hospital unit.

The candidate will report abnormal findings, help maintain clean rooms, manage unit workflow with the charge RN, and communicate with staff and families in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or CNA/CMA/EMT certification is required.
• CPR – Basic Life Support is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and record intake and output.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritize unit workflow under supervision of RN.
• Communicate with staff, patients, and families via phone/intercom.
