Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the Ortho Trauma General Surgery Unit on the night shift. The 32-bed unit provides telemetry and care for orthopedic, ortho-spine, trauma and general surgery patients.

Qualifications include Maryland CNA, high school diploma or equivalent, one year of clinical experience, and BLS CPR. Benefits include medical/dental/vision plans, PTO, and an Employee Referral Bonus.

The Ortho Trauma General Surgery Unit is a 32-bed acute care surgical inpatient unit with telemetry monitoring that provides care to primarily orthopedic, ortho-spine, trauma, and general surgery patients. Common diagnoses and surgical procedures include the following: open reductions, external fixation applications, intermedullary nail insertions, joint replacements, laminectomies, spinal fusions, post-motor vehicle accident with multiple traumas, post-violent crimes, spinal cord tumors, small bowel obstructions, and abscess irrigation and debridement. Most patients admitted are transferred from intensive care units, post-anesthesia care units, and the emergency room. This is a fast-paced environment rich with many opportunities for learning. It uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that promotes teamwork between physicians, nursing staff, care management, therapy, and a variety of other disciplines to provide the most comprehensive care to their patients. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required
• One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered.
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum $$18.41/visit - Maximum $$27.70/visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
