Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech I to join our inpatient and outpatient programs. You will deliver patient- and family-centered care as a valued member of the health care team, with access to ongoing training during your first year on the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Maryland CNA certification is required.
• One year of clinical experience in home care, outpatient, or hospital settings is preferred.
• BLS CPR certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient- and family-centered care as part of the health care team.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain certification and scope of practice.
• Support the unit with assigned tasks and patient care activities as directed by nursing staff.

Fulltime – Day shift – 40 hours

Patient Care Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital provide highly skilled and compassionate patient and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Patient Care Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
• One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit.
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range:

Minimum 18.96/hour - Maximum 28.88/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
