Job summary

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support direct patient care on the Med/Surg unit. You will perform routine tasks under the supervision of a nurse, document clinical information, and operate patient care equipment to ensure safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma, active Maryland CNA certification, current BLS CPR, and at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• One year of clinical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care tasks under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient.
• Performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competency documentation designates.
• Utilizes basic clinical skills to support daily patient care activities, accurately records and reports pertinent clinical information.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of specialized patient care equipment to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.

Salary Range: Minimum 18.96/hour - Maximum 28.53/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
