Job summary

Veterans in Healthcare seeks a Patient Care Tech I to assist with basic care, monitoring, and hygiene. This role prioritizes compassionate interactions and strong communication with patients, families, and the care team.

The PCT I will operate in a 72-hour bi-weekly schedule demanding flexibility, organization, and proactive engagement in patient wellness, under supervision in a Med Surg unit.

Qualifications

• 12 college credit hours including English Composition with a C or higher
• Overall GPA of 2.0 or greater
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required
• Service industry experience preferred but not required
• Education will include CPR, Skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare

Job description

Summary

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.
