Job summary
Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital are seeking a Patient Care Tech Float to support nursing staff and assist patients with basic care activities in a fast-paced hospital setting. Under RN supervision, you will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help prioritize unit workflow.
Strong CPR/BLS and a high school diploma or equivalent are required, with nursing student clinical rotation or related CNA/CMA/EMT credentials
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- CPR – Basic Life Support required.
- Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or CNA, CMA, or EMT certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming and eating.
- Monitors vital signs, records intake and output, and reports changes to nursing staff.
- Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization and multi-tasking under stress.
- Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
