Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist physicians and clinicians with patient intake, vital signs, and care coordination. The role includes rooming patients, performing basic tasks, and supporting EPIC documentation under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and Basic Life Support training within 90 days of hire. Orientation/externship will be provided as part of onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and obtain vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, SpO2, temperature).
• Perform medication reconciliation and collect patient medical history information.
• Expedite patient flow, room patients, and stock clinic with supplies.
• Navigate the EPIC electronic health record system and assist with non-clinical duties as needed.
• Communicate with patients in a respectful manner and uphold Baptist Health values.

Summary Job Description

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician. Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed. The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.
