Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support physicians and clinicians in a busy outpatient setting in Kentucky. Responsibilities include check-in, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and maintaining patient histories while upholding the organization's mission and values.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and BLS with orientation/externship training within 90 days of hire.

Summary Job Description

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician. Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non‑clinical duties as needed. The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Patient Care Technician experience.
• Experience in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic medical record systems.
• Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information.
• PCT, SRNA, Nursing Assistant, CNA, NCT, Nursing Care Tech.
