Job summary

The Little Clinic in Littleton, CO is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to help maximize patient flow and deliver a stellar patient experience under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner or physician assistant. This role includes administrative tasks and EHR documentation in alignment with company policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based, survey-ready healthcare environment as required to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
• Greet customers or potential patients in the front area or near the clinic.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily and manage supply orders.
• Answer questions, adhere to HIPAA, and consult with the provider on scope of services.
• Utilize patient queue, appointment tools, and patient kiosk systems to manage waiting room flow.
• Complete the registration process and place the patient under the scheduler for the provider on duty.
• Verify patient identity using government-issued ID.
• Determine payment method and collect payments, logging in the EHR.
• Collect insurance information and log in the EHR.
• Scan documents or flag for provider review.
• Escort patient to exam room and determine chief complaint.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history and enter into the EHR.
• Process patients in waiting area following clinic flow.
• Provide guidance on registration, wait times, services, and payment methods.
• Answer phones and perform daily patient callbacks as required.
• Participate in off-site events as needed.
• Prepare weekly supply orders for provider approval and ship lab specimens as needed.
• Float to designated clinics within geographic area if required.
• Assist provider with specimen collection as directed by protocols.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
