Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the Emergency Department in Panama City, FL during night shifts. This role involves direct patient care under licensed staff, assisting with movement and daily care while ensuring safety and efficient patient flow.

Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS within 30 days. Prior ED experience is preferred; opportunities for tuition assistance and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient support in the Emergency Department by assisting with basic clinical and non-clinical care activities under the supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist with patient movement, positioning, and daily care needs to promote comfort, safety, and efficient patient flow throughout the department.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to support timely interventions and high-quality emergency care.
• Document patient care activities accurately to ensure clear communication and continuity of care across the healthcare team.
• Maintain clean, organized patient care areas and equipment while supporting emergency department operations and readiness.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
