Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, part of NYU Langone Health, is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Days Float Pool. You will assist nurses with patient care, ensure safety of supplies and environment, and support the unit during shifts in a busy hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have a PCT program certification or CNA with EKG/Phlebotomy training and at least 6 months hospital experience, plus BLS/CPR credentials. Completion of online PCT training within 3 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience or CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT cert eligibility plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS/CPR certification required on entry per AHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse with patient care tasks.
• Support unit supplies, equipment and environment for safety.
• Participate in data collection for Quality Improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge procedures as directed.
