Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician Float Pool Part Time Evenings to assist the professional nurse in patient care and to support unit operations. You will help with critical tasks, maintain a safe and clean environment, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, PCT/CNA credentials with EKG and phlebotomy coursework, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; PCT program graduate with hospital experience preferred.
• CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework or PCT certification eligible plus at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required; complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in patient care tasks and supports nursing staff with compassionate care.
• Maintains supplies, equipment and environment safely and efficiently.

• Participates in data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Supports admissions, transfers and discharge activities per unit operations.
