Job summary

Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA is seeking a 24-hour/week Patient Care Liaison to support nursing staff and assist with ADLs, transport, and basic patient care under nurse direction.

The role emphasizes a caring demeanor, safety, and accurate data recording, with rotating weekends and holidays. BLS certification and a HS diploma are required; prior healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Preferred: 1 year healthcare experience or nursing service experience.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a nurse, performs ADLs and patient care.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
• Prioritizes patient care according to nursing direction and discharge plan.
• Transports patients to procedures/discharge as directed.
• Operates equipment safely and correctly.
• Assists with meals or feeds as necessary.
• Collects, records and reports accurate patient data in a timely manner.
• Performs the duties of a Patient Sitter and maintains continuous observation as outlined.
• Greet visitors professionally and answer phones.
• Screen visitors for appropriateness of entry and enforce security policies.
• Complete administrative duties regarding patient admission, transfer, and discharges.
• Maintain paper components in each patient chart.
