Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Associate to support cardiac telemetry patients. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and documentation while maintaining a safe, respectful healing environment.

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent (or 1 year of related experience) and BLS within 30 days. Days 6:30am–7pm, team-focused hospital role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; OR 1 year of applicable experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Required licensure/certification can substitute education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily patient care and assist with personal needs.
• Assist with mobility and positioning for safe movement.
• Document care and observations promptly for team communication.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and ready medical equipment.
• Report subtle changes to nursing staff to support patient safety.

• Deliver Compassionate Daily Care: Assist patients with their personal care and daily living activities, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and treated with dignity throughout their stay.
• Safely Support Patient Mobility: Guide and assist patients with movement and positioning, protecting their physical safety while helping them build momentum in their recovery.
• Serve as an Essential Clinical Observer: Act as vital eyes and ears for the care team by identifying and reporting subtle shifts in physical or emotional conditions to nursing staffâadvocating directly for patient safety.
• Maintain Accurate Care Journeys: Document patient care and observations promptly to ensure seamless communication across the healthcare team and maintain high standards of record-keeping.
• Create a Safe, Healing Environment: Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and well-prepared medical equipment to foster a hygienic, welcoming space for healing.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
