Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Health Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff in Urbana, IL. Under RN supervision, you will assist with personal care, data collection, and daily living activities, while floats across units as needed and may serve as a sitter.

Qualifications include BLS within 30 days, CNA credentials, HS diploma, and prior CNA experience. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and effective communication with departments and patients.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• HS diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program
• CNA coursework completed within past 24 months
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• At least one semester of nursing clinical experience
• Experience as CNA within past 24 months

Responsibilities

• Assist with unit supply maintenance and charting
• Collect data on assigned patients and ensure documentation accuracy
• Demonstrate competency in psychomotor skills (vital signs, glucose monitoring, intake/output)
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Prepare patients for transportation as needed
• Collaborate with nursing to ensure high-quality care for critical patients
• Assist with communication and hourly rounding
• Float within hospital to support duties
• Serve as sitter when needed
• Assist in bedside procedures setup
