Job summary

UCI Health, part of University of California, Irvine, seeks a Hospital Assistant to support direct patient care teams in a busy clinical setting. You will assist with safe patient handling, stocking, cleaning, and set-up of procedure rooms, while helping ensure equipment is available and in good condition.

The role requires basic math, proficiency with office equipment, and to work overtime as needed. Candidates should have at least six months of healthcare experience and be able to work

Qualifications

• Skill to perform basic mathematical computations, and to use general office equipment including computers, copiers, and calculators
• Must be available to work overtime as patient care needs demand
• Minimum six months relevant experience in a healthcare environment
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

• Assist direct patient care providers with safe patient handling, including lifting, positioning, transferring, and transporting
• Stock, clean, and set up of special procedure rooms
• Track, deliver, clean, and perform basic repair of equipment and supplies and assure that equipment is available and in good condition when needed
