Job summary

Shields Health Care Group seeks a part-time Patient Care Representative for weekday evenings (5pm-11pm) in Winchester, VA. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, handling copays, and guiding patients through check-in while ensuring privacy and accuracy.

Responsibilities include assisting with iPad check-in, coordinating with radiology staff, processing mail, and ensuring smooth patient flow. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect copay/deductible amounts and explain consent forms.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in and provide feedback when needed.
• Recognize when language services are required.
• Distribute films/CDs while maintaining HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
• Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.
• Prepare setup for next day's appointment schedule and flag issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer groups.
• Enter required information into our systems accurately.
• Respond to scheduling emergencies promptly.
• Support Customer Care with machine utilization using the waitlist templates.
• Address patient and doctor concerns professionally and accurately.
• Notify management of any action impacting departments or customers.
• Stay updated on policy changes affecting daily tasks.
• Keep copay/petty cash accurate and perform daily bank deposits.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Help maintain survey return rates per company guidelines.
• Coordinate workflow with multiple departments for efficiency.

Job Description

What you will do

• Greet patients, collect necessary copay/deductible/co- insurance and explain the consent form to be completed


• Assist patients with Ipad check in process, ability to trouble shoot and provide feedback


• Ability to recognize and utilize when language services are needed


• Distribute films/CDs as required, while maintaining HIPAA and the Patient Privacy Policy.


• Work in collaboration with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.


• Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.


• Prepare set up for next day's appointment schedule and communicate any potential issues


• Provide and respect confidentiality of all customer groups.


• Verify and enter necessary information into our systems.


• Respond appropriately to scheduling emergency patient situations.


• Support Customer Care with machine utilization by filling the template (Utilizing waitlist, 1/1 and 7/4


• Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy, efficiency and in a professional manner.


• Keep management informed of situations and conditions with potential impact on the company, particular department(s) or customer group.


• Remain current on any changes in policies or procedures that modify daily work functions.


• Maintain co pay/petty cash accuracy and make daily bank deposits


• Assist with on-boarding and training of new employees


• Performs other related duties as required


• Work to maintain survey return rates in conjunction with company guidelines and goals


• Workflow in collaboration with multi-departments to ensure efficiencies

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $17-29/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
