Job summary

McLaren is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide excellent patient care and support across physician practices. You will perform procedures, take vital signs, administer injections, and assist with registrations, scheduling, and insurance collection.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 6 months experience or completion of a medical assistant program, plus BLS certification in some clinics. EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months medical assistant or patient care tech experience.
• Alternative: completion of a medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN, armed services medic, or patient care tech program.
• BLS certification within 6 months for Rural Health Designation clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist in medical procedures and tests.
• Take vital signs, administer injections, and venipuncture as needed.
• Greet patients, register and schedule appointments, collect co-pays and verify insurance.
• Maintain records of financial activity and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.
