Job summary

Jackson Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to support physicians in patient care, vital signs collection, and front-office tasks. You will assist with injections, blood draws, EKGs, and minor procedures, while maintaining clear communication with the care team and ensuring proper documentation in the EMR.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a Medical Assistant certification; prior clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certification from accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience in a physician’s office preferred.
• Experience with multi-line telephones, billing and coding reference materials, and EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with examinations.
• Draw blood (venipuncture) for lab procedures and perform EKGs/x-rays as ordered.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist physician with minor procedures.
• Maintain equipment and exam room readiness; document medications and patient education.
