Job Responsibilities :
Primary Function:
Perform patient outreach to coordinate care, including scheduling appointments.
Collect all patient demographics and complete full registration in EPIC for every scheduled patient.
Review patient coverage and submit insurance authorizations.
Coordinate with health system staff for patient care.
Manage pharmacy prescriptions and liaise with third parties.
Upload images and support third-party radiology services for the Image Library/Reading Room.
Provide excellent customer service, demonstrate insurance knowledge, and attention to detail to ensure accurate medical records and a positive patient experience.
Opportunities for growth within the Radiology Department (Reading Room and Film Library).
Additional Responsibilities:
- Navigate healthcare applications (Epic, Cerner, iCite, etc.) and call center tools (Kyruus, Genesys, etc.).
- Understand physician, department, and healthcare scheduling processes for accurate referrals and outpatient scheduling.
- Complete full patient registration, including demographics, guarantor data, and insurance details.
- Deliver excellent customer service to callers, adhering to communication standards.
- Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting healthcare values.
- Document interactions accurately in software.
- Track patient and third-party interactions diligently, following prompts and reminders.
- Use appropriate greetings and identify oneself during calls.
- Maintain professionalism and respect at all times.
- Request hospital affiliation or location preferences from patients.
- Proactively offer appointment scheduling to promote growth.
- Adhere to schedules and attendance policies.
- Address access issues and escalate to management when necessary.
- Follow references and prompts for accurate scheduling.
- Register callers, classes, screenings, and events accurately.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Meet daily call volume and quality metrics.
- Complete outbound scheduling from work queues.
- Handle service requests via web appointment forms.
Required Skills:

- Proficiency in typing and computer use.
- Experience in healthcare or appointment scheduling.

- Knowledge of insurance, sound judgment, critical thinking, and a pleasant telephone manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or working towards one.
