Vanguard Skin Specialists, a Colorado-based dermatology and plastic surgery practice, seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to deliver exceptional patient experiences. You will handle patient inquiries, triage appointments, and support the team across Briargate, Northgate, Broadmoor, and Central locations.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, strong verbal and written communication, and a proven track record of teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Address patient questions and requests via phone, in person, and the patient portal.
• Understand patient needs and triage appointments to relevant specialists.
• Prepare patient electronic files prior to visits (insurance verification, prior authorization).
• Prepare and send written and electronic patient communications.
• Coordinate across teams to address patient requests and concerns.
• Optimize providers’ schedules to focus on patient care.
• Ensure follow-up appointments for patients at risk of skin cancer.

We give generously of our time and resources locally and around the world.Job and Ideal Candidate:Responsibilities include the following:Address patient questions and requests via phone, in person, and through the portal, including but not limited to record requests, referrals, prescription refills, etc.Understand patient needs and triage appointments so that patients are scheduled with the correct specialistsPrepare patient electronic files prior to visit, e.g., insurance verification, prior authorization, etc.Prepare and send written and electronic patient communicationsCoordinate across teams to help address patient requests and concernsOptimize medical providers’ schedules to make sure their time is efficiently devoted to patient careEnsure patients at risk of skin cancer schedule appropriate follow up appointmentsGreet patients and handle patient check in/out for appointmentsProvide patients with exceptional service, as measured by patient satisfaction surveys and reviewsAssist with open houses and eventsAssociate’s degree, or equivalent work experienceProven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellenceExcellent verbal and written skills required. This position is based in Colorado Springs and includes working from multiple locations such as Briargate, Northgate, Broadmoor, and Central.Reviews:Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first check in with HR will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire. Written annual reviews take place each fall. For individuals with <6 months of tenure by fall review but >6 months tenure at spring review, then the initial review will take place in the spring review.The practice promotes from within which provides opportunity for growth and advancement.Compensation & Benefits:Compensation is $20-23 per hour with eligibility for overtime. The practice covers a portion of the premium for medical benefits and offers vision, dental, and 401K.
