Job summary

Vanguard Skin Specialists is seeking a part-time Intake Medical Assistant to support a busy dermatology and plastic surgery practice across Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Canon City, Woodland Park, and Pueblo.

You will escort patients, take histories, document meds, and communicate with providers to ensure efficient visits. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and exceptional patient service in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document medical history and medications.
• Take vitals as needed and record accurately in the EMR.

• Handle patient questions about biopsy results or prior authorizations and document calls in EMR.
• Perform clinic maintenance tasks and support daily operations.

We’ll train you and help you get there.Duties & Responsibilities:Intake MAEscorts patients to exam room, takes detailed medical history, documents medications, and confirms reason for visit. Takes vitals as needed. Documents appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR).Communicates patient reason for visit and medical summary to medical providers accurately and efficiently in preparation for exam.As directed, may speak with patients over the phone regarding biopsy results, medication prior authorization status, and other patient questions and concerns. Documents calls and prior authorizations in the EMR.Other duties as assigned, including clinic maintenance tasks (drawing up medications as directed, instrument sterilization and processing, etc.)Proven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellence.Excellent verbal and written skills required. Customer service experience a plus.Alignment with the values and mission of Vanguard Skin Specialists.Schedule:This is a part-time position based on clinic need. Hours will fall within business hours Monday to Friday, with opportunities for Saturdays. You will work across multiple offices (Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Canon City, Woodland Park, and Pueblo)Reviews:Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first check in with HR will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire. Written annual reviews take place each fall. For individuals with <6 months of tenure by fall review but >6 months tenure at spring review, then the initial review will take place in the spring review.The practice promotes from within, which provides opportunity for growth and advancement.Compensation & Benefits:Compensation is $19 per hour with eligibility for overtime and paid time off accrued based on hours worked.
