• Collects patient financial responsibility (co-pays, deductibles, etc.).
• Manages cashier box and daily deposits per policy.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments; supports case manager with follow-ups.
• Maintains medical records and timely filing/scanning.
• Ensures all correspondence is scanned/ filed promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is the first impression when patients and guests arrive at InnovaCare Health facilities. They also assist patients by assessing, facilitating, planning, and advocating for health needs on an individual and on‑going basis.

Essential Job Functions:

• Welcomespatientsand visitors upon arrival to the clinic. Manageswaiting room to ensure wait times are within15‑minutesof arrival. If not, the PCC keeps the patients and visitors notified of any delays.
• Manages the front desk workflow and communicates with theMA’s.
• Manages theprovidersschedule daily.
• Maintainsaccurateregistration by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
• Assistspatients in problem solving potential issues related to the health care system, financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters asappropriate, transportation services or prescriptionassistance); andPCP change ifnecessary.
• Assistspatientwith intake processes includingscanning required documents.
• Collectspatient’s financial payment responsibility (ex.co-payments, co-insurance, deductiblesorissuesreceipts).
• May manage cashierboxor similarlocation,balancesdaily deposits, andpreparesbank depositsaccording to company policies.
• Processes walk‑in patients and visitorssuch as greets, promptly and professionallyanswers phone calls, and if applicable, schedules appointments per guidelines.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments.May alsoassistthe case manager with scheduling hospital follow‑up.
• Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule).
• Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed intimelymanner.
• Processes requests for medical records release andmaintainsappropriate logs, etc.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Teamwork orientation.
• Organized and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Expert in computer literacy in electronic healthrecord.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsrequired.
• Basicmathematical skills.
• Safe work practices in a clinic setting.
• Able to follow through with delegated tasks.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

• At least2-3yearsin a medical related customer service role.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but notrequired.
