Job summary

Adventist Health Hanford seeks an organized admitting/clerical assistant to support efficient patient processing in an outpatient setting. You will greet patients, manage schedules, handle calls, and assist with billing and records—ensuring a smooth patient flow and high satisfaction.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, coordination with medical staff, and maintaining orderly department operations. Candidates with a High School diploma and preferred related degree are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree in business, healthcare or computer science or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
  • Excellent communication with patients and visitors; ability to handle multiple lines and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and directs patients and visitors; notifies appropriate personnel of arrivals.
  • Answers multiple phone lines and intercom; manages scheduling and appointments.
  • Processes physicians' orders and admissions/discharges; maintains patient charts and department records.
  • Obtains billing/insurance information and supports in scheduling and patient demographic data collection.
  • Maintains waiting areas, supports department meetings and special projects as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
