Qualifications

• Specialized Medical Assistant diploma or LVPG Medical Assistant Trainee completion.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, word processing, and Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with empathy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of clinical workflows and basic patient care practices.

Responsibilities

• Be professional and empathetic to build trust with patients and families.
• Coordinate patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and schedule appointments.
• Maintain EMR accuracy and respond to patient inquiries while supporting clinic workflow.
• Maintain quality control logs and other required documentation.
• Collect patient data including vitals; document in the medical record.
• Assist providers with health history, allergies, and current medications.
• Prepare exam rooms, ensure sanitation, and stock supplies.
• Collect lab specimens and complete requisitions as needed.
• Administer medications and vaccinations per orders within scope of practice.
• Support procedures and assist with examinations.
• Conduct follow-up calls 2–3 days post discharge.
