Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Patient Care Associate to support nurses and care teams on the 5N Tele unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, collect specimens, monitor vitals, and help ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires strong communication, basic clinical skills such as venipuncture and EKG, and a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care. Shift work includes two shifts weekly, daytime hours, telepatient support available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant/patient care program with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively.
• 3–9 months healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities, problem solve, and communicate in English.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and daily living.
• Record vital signs and intake/output data.
• Prepare procedures and assist during procedures.
• Transport patients and deliver meals and supplies.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and equipment.
• Document and report patient status; support discharge processes.
