Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Surgical & Orthopedic Unit. The part-time daytime role includes supporting patients with daily activities, vital signs, meals, hygiene, and mobility in a fast-paced 30-bed unit.

Traction is provided through a defined career ladder from PCA to PCT with training programs, including a 175-hour program if new to the field. Mercy offers strong benefits from day one and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/CPTC certification, enrollment in a healthcare program, or current Mercy coworker preferred.
• No prior experience required; Mercy will train you.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs in the EMR.
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, toileting, ambulation, and transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Phlebotomy and blood cultures; enteral feedings; wound care; IV/Foley removal; tracheostomy care and suctioning.
