Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a full-time Patient Care Associate to join the Level 1 Med/Surg team. Three 12-hour shifts per week, days and nights, with every other weekend and holidays as required.

A sign-on/retention bonus totaling $3,000 is offered for eligible applicants. The role provides direct patient care under the direction of the Professional Nurse, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, catheter care, and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care appropriate to age and culture.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient safety.
• Vitals monitoring and basic nursing tasks as directed.
• Set up ECG, respiratory equipment and transcribe orders when indicated.

SIGN ON/ RETENTIONBONUS - Totaling $3,000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

Work Hours: Three 12 hour shifts per week, days and nights, every other weekend and holidays as required.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:

• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion).
• Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school.
• Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
• BCLS certification.
