Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Associate to provide compassionate, direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities include taking routine vitals, helping with mobility, performing basic clinical tasks, and preparing patients for examinations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Professional Nurse.
• Assists with daily living tasks and ensures patient safety.
• Obtains 12-lead EKG and sets up respiratory equipment as needed.
• Transcribes orders when indicated and monitors patient condition.

Description

SIGN ON/ RETENTION BONUS - Totaling $3,000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

*Bonus Eligible* Department: Level 3 , Work Hours: Three 12 hr shifts per week, rotate days and nights, weekends and holidays required.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
