Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Associate. The role provides direct patient care under a nurse, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and patient safety.

Responsibilities include tasks such as 12-lead EKG, basic equipment setup, and order transcription as needed. The position requires flexibility to rotate days and nights, weekends and holidays, with a $1,500 sign-on/retention bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.
• Preferred: Nursing assistant program completion; nursing student after first quarter/semester.
• Preferred: CNA certification; BCLS certification.

SIGN ON/ RETENTION BONUS - Totaling $1,500 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

*Bonus Eligible* Department: Level 3 Telemetry
Work Hours: One 12 hr and One 8 hr shift per week, rotate days and nights, weekends and holidays required.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
