Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Associate to provide direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse. This role supports 36 scheduled weekly hours with day and afternoon shifts, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, including every other weekend and holidays.

You will perform basic patient care, record vital signs, assist with hygiene and mobility, and communicate changes to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nursing student with first clinical rotation or state testing completed.
• Clear communication and ability to follow directions.
• Knowledge of patient safety standards and basic clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, vital signs, and mobility.
• Liaise between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly, using clinical systems.
