Job summary

Mercy is hiring for a Patient Care Associate role within our 4C unit. This position supports nurses under supervision to provide individualized patient care and participate in a formal training program that leads to essential healthcare credentials.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Experience: None required
• Minimum Physical Requirements: Push/pull and/or lift 50 pounds regularly; prolonged standing and walking; grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist and squat.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the EMR
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport
• Provide clerical support as needed
• Support PCA duties including phlebotomy/blood cultures, enteral feeding, wound care, IV/Foley removal, and trach care/suctioning
