Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to aid in patient care and daily Nursing Unit operations under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include hygiene, safety, vitals, documentation and coordinate with the nursing team to ensure patient comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma (GED) and preferably PA Nursing Assistant Certification, plus one year of direct patient care or related study. Overtime and varied shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• PA Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.
• One year of direct patient care experience or current enrollment in a health program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including basic hygiene, comfort, support and safety measures, nutrition and elimination needs, simple treatments and procedures, vital signs, weights, glucose monitoring and mobility per unit policies.
• Receive and communicate patient information accurately; recognize when to call or report information to the nurse.
• Orient patient and significant other to the unit and the patient room on admission and ongoing.
• Respond to call lights and perform rounding timely to meet patient and family needs.
• Document assigned tasks according to unit policy; maintain clean equipment and report defects.
• Prepare and transport patients and perform courier duties for the department as needed.
• Restock supplies and monitor temperature logs; keep the unit tidy.
